Rarerowanyarns.com was founded in late 2008 by Damon Beyer of Katzenbach Partners and Patrick George of PGEXP, LLC, however the real story started much earlier in a small apt right off the Harvard Business School campus nearly 20 years ago.

Bio: Damon, aka the infamous "rowanknitter" on ebay, was born and grew up in Lafayette Louisiana where he married his high school sweetheart, Cindy Sawyer. They have two teenage children -- Anna and Drew. After getting a B.S. in Computer Science, he opened a restaurant where a friend taught him how to knit. He bought his first Kaffe Fassett kit, Jack's Back Stripe, in the mid-1980's and somehow managed to finish it while getting his MBA from Harvard in 1991. A self-confessed Rowan addict, Damon has been knitting complex colorful sweaters for himself, family, and friends ever since. Always disappointed when directed to "substitute" yarns for the original colors by well meaning but poorly stocked local yarn store owners, Damon began to amass a stash of Rowan, Annabel Fox, and Alice Starmore yarns that could keep him knitting 24 x 7 for several lifetimes. Always traveling for work, he charmed his way into the secret back stocks of many of the largest yarn stores around the globe. With the advent of ebay, the collection got out of hand and something had to be done. On business in Austin, Damon met Patrick George and rarerowanyarns.com was born.

When Damon isn't flying around the world for work, knitting complex intarsia, or scavenging for that perfect shade of discontinued yarn he finds the time to run King's Company - a youth theater ministry at Church of the Holy Apostles in Katy, Texas. Twice a year we use ebay auctions to raise money for lights, costumes, and sets. Our photograph is Damon in his latest role of "Chief Merrymaker" from the company's winter production of "O Holy Knight."

Hometown: Austin, Texas
Bio: Patrick George was born in the summer of '83 to Darrell and Aimee George. He grew in Austin, TX and the surrounding hill country. After graduating in 2001 from the Echelon Honors academy he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. After his enlistement he returned to his hometown and formed PGEXP, LLC, an internet marketing and design firm. In August of 2008 he was married to the lovely Erika Earl of Laguna Beach, CA. They live, along with their dog Shiba, on Lake Travis in Austin.
